Miami Hang Gilding's Level I program is your entry into the world of modern hang gliding From the protected waters of south Biscayne Bay our custom designed boat will tow you, in the pilot harness, and our certified instructor safely into the air. When released from the towline at over 1,000 feet, you will literally glide across the air, getting a bird’s eye view of Miami and the keys, the way they were meant to be seen, by water and by air. 

6 Tandem Flights Over 1,000 Feet

In the most advanced training program hang gliding has to offer, you will learn how to launch, fly and land a hang glider over Biscayne Bay with a USHGA certified instructor.

Tandem Instruction will include:

  • Launch techniques  

  • Pitch control

  • Roll control

  • In flight maneuvers

  • Water landing

 In ground school, through hands on training, you will learn basic hang gliding skills.

Ground School will cover:

  • Hang glider components and terminology

  • The set up and break down of a hang glider

  • Hang glider safety skills, including: Pre-flight, Hang Check and Pre-Launch Techniques

  • Weight shift training on a hang glider simulator

These videos are designed to reinforce your flight training and ground school. Come in and watch as often as you like.  

Test and Qualification

The United States Hang Gliding Association verifies that Miami Hang Gliding is a certified hang gliding school. At the end of Level I, you will take a written USHGA certification test that will qualify you for your USHGA rating. Any incorrect answers will be fully explained by an instructor.
